VIEWS
With the Oscars coming upon us I put my vote in for Elizabeth. Make Up Nomination for Jenny Schircore. The simple understated transformation from the young innocent princess to the Virgin Queen is superb. The hair, was intricate yet simply beautiful. The costumes the cinematography! It is pieces like this that makes the movie going experience a magical one.

Other films up for the Academy's nod of approval: Saving Private Ryan, (Dan Striepeke, Lois Burwell and Conor O'Sullivan.) I think Dan Striepeke and Lois Burwell are amazing human beings and Make Up Artists and their work is always worth paying attention to.

Shakespeare In Love features the work of Tina Earnshaw (of Titanic fame and of course the new Max Factor Celebrity) teamed up with Lisa Westcott and Veronica Brebner. Another beautiful period piece.

Star Trek: Insurrection - the infamous work of Michael Westmore along with Scott Wheeler and Yolanda Toussiang. Sometimes the material in Star Trek is not taken serious by the academy so they skip the nod to the artists as well. But this is nice work, lots of prosthetics, Ian liked some of it I thought it was a little strange but it a lot of talent on that set.

Beloved (Carl Fullerton, Neal Martz and Alan Anger) had lots of character work and there were a tremendous amount of wigs, not to mention pregnancy scene, nude, that was pulled off.

The Mask of Zorro (Ken Diaz, Chris Beverage and Paul DeBlanc (hair)). I didn't see this movie, so I don't know how the make up looked on the big screen. It apparently had some flawless hair work and a variety of make-ups.

Well Everyone in conclusion I would like to ask the indulgence and forgiveness if I have not returned e-mails, phone calls or been available to you lately. This month I lost my mother in her battle with cancer it has been a long hard few months and all the wonderful people here at Make Up Mania and many of our customers have made it a blessed experience in it's own way. Remember to say you love some one.
Show love to the ones who watched you grow,
show love to those you do not know

show love to yourself so you can love some more.

God Bless -
Eva Marie
