GIRL COSMETICS, EDUCATOR MakeUpMania founder and former
Punk Rock Diva, Eva Marie Denst burst onto the world of makeup artistry in the
early 1990's. Her dream of becoming a makeup artist began as a child, where she
spent countless hours putting makeup on friends and family. Realizing her talent
and ambition, she went on to professionally train at the famed Westmore Academy
of Cosmetic Arts in Burbank, California. In addition to Eva's extensive training
in makeup artistry, she holds the prestigious Journeyman's IATSE Local 706 Qualification-Makeup
Artists and Hairstylists Union, as well as being a licensed esthetician and a
certified Temptu airbrush instructor. It wasn't long before Eva made a name for
herself as a makeup artist in the world of entertainment. Her impressive
film and television credits include Star Trek: Voyager (Alien Prosthetic makeup),
Collateral Damage, Boogie Nights, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Se7en, The Thirteenth
Floor, and Suicide Kings. Eva's
makeup and wig expertise was also showcased with the Los Angeles Opera Company.
Other stage credits include Joy Ride, The Story of Grandma Moses, An American
Primitive starring Cloris Leachman. Her
makeup credits are not limited to just film and theater. She provided makeup for
the 2001 Alzheimer's Association of Los Angeles Fundraiser "A Night At Sardi's
- Oklahoma", the 2001 American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Awards Honoring
Barbara Streisand, the 2000 Tony Awards and the 2000 Democratic National Convention
"News Hour with Jim Lehrer." Not
one to keep all this extensive experience and knowledge to herself, Eva, who is
an adjunct at U.S.C. School of Film and TV and her partner, Ian Goodwin, teach
a multitude of workshops for the film, television, theater and fashion world at
MakeUpMania. Ever
since MakeUpMania went on line - it has provided high quality, professional makeup
tothe world. Since opening MakeUpMania's flagship store in NYC in 1998, it has
been a strong presence in the Lower East Side. MakeUpMania regularly provides
the ultra dazzling looks of several fashion shows including the 2004 Drama Queen
Fall Fashion Show and the 2002, 2003 and 2004 Annual Stores A GoGo Runway Fashion
Shows. Most
recently, Eva once again took the makeup world by storm when she announced the
creation of her own line of eye makeup for her World Girl line called Stains.
Punk rock enthusiasts will recognize some of the Stain names such as Tainted,
Furzz, Void, Skin and Jam. If
